Nara experience, deers and buda
n 710, Japan established its first permanent capital at Heijo, the city now known as Nara (奈良). Prior to this, the capital would shift locations with each new emperor. However, the growing influence and political ambitions of Nara’s powerful Buddhist monasteries soon posed a serious threat to the government. As a result, the capital was relocated to Nagaoka in 784 and later to Kyoto.
In addition to its historical and cultural significance, Nara is home to the famous Nara Deer Park. The park is renowned for its hundreds of friendly, semi-wild deer that roam freely throughout the area. Visitors can feed them and take memorable photos, making it a fun and engaging experience.
Within the 1,600-acre Nara Park, you’ll also find many ancient temples and shrines, dating back to the period when Nara was the capital of Japan.
